Audio-Visual Systems Designer

Our team provides turnkey professional integrated audio-visual communications solutions to government, military, higher education, and private industry clients throughout Ontario and Western Quebec. Technical solutions cover presentation, all forms of collaborative conferencing, streaming, small to large audio systems, simultaneous interpretation, plus comprehensive command and control.

Primary responsibilities for this position include:

  • Work with Sales team members and end-customers to document client’s needs, expectations and establish SOW’s; Perform pre-sales engineering, project bill of materials, and related to aid sales team in proposal development;
  • Work with team members on RFP’s/RFQ’s and related competitions;
  • Prepare designs in AutoCAD both for pre-sales as well as later final As-Built documentation requirements;
  • Designs typically include (not limited to): audio, video, control, IT/networking/Communications, power, thermal management including environment HVAC, electrical requirements, mechanical requirements;
  • Work in conjunction with other technical team resources in a constructive and collaborative manner;
  • Meet with manufacturer’s, customers and other to evaluate potential new technologies & solutions;
  • Assist other team stakeholders with technical support issues as may be needed;
  • Coordinate with other team stakeholder(s) on aspects of designed projects being deployed;
  • Be open to continual learning and training as well as mentoring;

Candidates for this position are required to have the following:

  • 3 to 5 years industry experience
  • Strong organizational, communications plus computer/networking technology skills;
  • Strong skills with AutoCAD, MS Office and common CRM/ERP/project tracking software suites;
  • Demonstrate broad experience and certifications with key industry manufacturer’s such as (not limited to) Crestron, Extron, QSC-QSYS, Panasonic, Christie Digital, and other such professional AV manufacturer’s;
  • Industry Association certifications will be beneficial, such as (not limited to) Infocomm/AVIXA’s CTS, CTS-I or CTS-D, AQAV, or similar (provide copies of most current);
  • Must possess and maintain in good standing a valid driver’s license and passport (travel expected);
  • Currently have or be able to become security cleared to “Secret” within Canada;
  • Successful applicant should be familiar with a variety of construction concepts, practices and procedures;
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset;
